Meet our Panelists
Kevin Callahan, COO, Maggie Louise Confections Kevin Callahan is currently the COO of Maggie Louise Confections (MLC), a luxury chocolate brand headquartered in Austin, TX. In 2014 the company was selected as one of Oprah's Favorite Things and its products have been on the Today Show several times and have been featured in Food+Wine, People, Instyle and more. The company’s focus is on making people feel special through storytelling with unique and luxurious confections. Products are currently servicing online retail, events, and corporate/custom gifting (client list already includes notable brands such as L'Oreal Paris, Jimmy Choo, Lexus, JW Marriott and John Frieda).
Prior to MLC, Callahan cofounded and led the Innovations Group within MapMyFITNESS, Inc., a venture backed inc500 company focused on empowering the active lifestyle through health and fitness websites and mobile applications. MMF was acquired by Under Armour in 2014.
Callan is also active in the local technology and entrepreneurship community and is a DreamIt and Techstar Mentor. He’s been a guest lecturer on Entrepreneurship at the Johns Hopkins University and has spoken on panels and at conferences regarding the impact of data and technology on fitness and the businesses around fitness (i.e., Race Management).
Michael Westgate, VP of Marketing, RealMassiveMichael Westgate is VP of Marketing at RealMassive, the first data provider to deliver open access to the commercial real estate industry. His immediate focus is to shape and guide RealMassive's marketing operations across brand development, sales, and technology platforms, ultimately helping CRE professionals achieve long term revenue growth through RealMassive’s uniquely-open data marketplace.
Previously, Westgate led marketing for W2O Group, a network of digital marketing services agencies supporting Fortune 500 marketers with customer insights, actionable strategy, and ROMI analytics. In addition to managing the firm’s marketing strategy and campaigns, he supported top tech and entertainment clients including Microsoft, Intel, NBC, Disney, and Whole Foods. Prior to W2O Group, Michael spent nearly four years at Microsoft in Windows product marketing and SMB audience marketing roles.
Before that, he completed five years at Sara Lee and two years at General Mills in a variety of sales and marketing roles. He holds a bachelor’s in business from Indiana (’01) and an MBA from UT McCombs (’09).
Brian Dainton, SVP of Engineering, SpredfastAs Spredfast’s SVP of Engineering, Brian is instrumental in driving and implementing new product development. He is a 15-year veteran of Austin high-tech startups, and has taken over a dozen commercial applications from napkin sketch to production.
Prior to joining Spredfast, Brian co-founded Mass Relevance, which merged with Spredfast in 2014. Brian has a wealth of engineering and development experience having held roles at PeopleAdmin, Fiveruns, Optive Research (acquired by Tripos, Inc.), allmystuff, and Triology Software. Brian holds a B.S. in Computer Science from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
