Our mentorship Program Overview

Learning how to navigate the professional world can be an overwhelming step for students and recent graduates. Being able to connect with someone who’s been through similar challenges can make all the difference for young professionals entering the advertising industry. That’s where Ad 2 Austin’s Mentorship Program plays a vital role. We help connect seasoned professionals in the advertising/marketing industry with the next generation of leaders. Through this program, we hope to cultivate career growth for both the Mentor and Mentee.

The Spring Mentorship Program will begin in January 2025 and run through March 2025. Mentors and Mentees must be available to meet at least once a month either in person or virtually. Ad 2 Austin will organize monthly events with focus topics for all Mentors and Mentees to attend.

Applications open Monday, October 28th and will close Sunday, November 25th at 11:59pm

Once applications are submitted, Ad 2 Austin will do their best to pair Mentors and Mentees based upon areas of interest/expertise within the industry (creative, social media, account management, etc.). Pairings will be announced on January 8th, 2025.

Program objective

Our objective is simple: connect industry professionals with emerging talent through an environment that fosters dialogue about professional and personal development.

This mutually beneficial arrangement allows you (the Mentor) to form relationships and pass on your knowledge to students looking to break through the Austin advertising space. With your expertise, your Mentee will benefit from an individualized experience where they can learn the ins-and-outs of a career in advertising, hone their networking skills, and learn how to navigate industry/agency culture to help jumpstart their career.

This program would not be possible without Ad 2 Austin’s talented advertising professionals who donate their time to help the next generation of copywriters, media buyers, web designers, and all around advertising gurus.

Members of Ad 2 Austin, actively working in the Austin area who have at least 3 years of industry experience are eligible to apply to become a Mentor.

This mutually beneficial arrangement allows you (the Mentee) to form relationships and connect with industry professionals in the Austin area while becoming a part of the advertising community. You will benefit from an individualized experience where you can learn the ins-and-outs of a career in advertising, hone your networking skills, and learn how to navigate industry/agency culture to help jumpstart your career.

Students (highly encouraging seniors), recent graduates, and young professionals in the Austin and San Marcos area interested in working in the advertising industry qualify to apply to become a Mentee. This beneficial program is available to all Ad 2 members and students. The cost of Ad 2 Austin’s Mentorship Program is $15. Note: all students do not need to be a paid Ad 2 Austin Member to participate in the program.
